Keysight’s PD1550A dynamic power device analyzer and double-pulse tester eases the characterization of discrete devices and power modules. The PD1550A tests wide-bandgap device-based power modules up to 1360 V and 1000 A, enabling automotive OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, and power converter designers to gain greater insight into power module characteristics.
Requiring minimal setup, the system delivers repeatable, reliable measurements, while simplifying and automating the testing process. Key measurements performed by the PD1550A include turn-on, turn-off, switching, reverse recovery, and gate charge characteristics. Additionally, Keysight’s True Pulse isolated probe technology provides accurate gate voltage measurements on high-side devices.
The PD1550A employs standard measurement techniques such as probe compensation, offset adjustment, deskewing, and common mode noise rejection. A semiautomated calibration routine corrects for system gain and offset errors, and de-embedding techniques compensate for inductive parasitics in the current shunt.
